Irene has arrived In Madrid

Lilia and Karol went to the airport this morning to pick up Irene. She brought me some chocolate from Thomas Swift in Princeton. Mmmmm good! Today we will have a cookout with Karol’s mom. On Monday we are planning to go to Sevilla and spend the night, then Córdoba on the way back. Should be fun as the temperatures are supposed to be over 100 F (38 C) each day.
We had a bbq today. The food was awesome. Karol’s mom also came. The dogs also ate very well.
We will go to Madrid downtown tomorrow and visit museums and buy train tickets to Sevilla and Santander.

  1. Ken and I are both enjoying your blog. Sounds like you are having lots of great experiences and a few hassles. We just arranged for spending 6 weeks in Seville next Feb-April (at least it won't be 100 degrees). The Mezquita in Cordoba is WONDERFUL, we were there 10 years ago. It is still one of our most favorite places ...Lois

    1. Sevilla is a beautiful city. We certainly enjoyed ourselves while there. Actually we didn’t stop in Córdoba on the way back because the ladies were worn out.
We stayed at the Silken Al Andulus for 75 Euro and it is amazing. It’s not downtown (short cab ride) but it is located in a very high class neighborhood. In the back of the guestbook, it stated that the rates were €289 per day, and since I reserved it at €75, that is what cost.
