Bath, Friday the 23rd

Took a bus into city center today. For the two of us, costs just about the same as an Uber, and the Uber gets us to the door.
We went to the Jane Austen Centre and had an enlightening time. Lilia could not get over that I had not read any of her books. I think they are “chick” books, not that that matters.
Don't you dare! Well, I must admit her books lack in violence, sex and drugs, a man's favorite subjects, but they are wonderful.

Then to the Royal Crescent for a nice tour of the home where Henry Sandford lived for twenty years (1776 - 1796).
It is impressive. Designed and executed by John Wood and his son by the same name. They were architects who got their inspiration from ancient Roman buildings. They also designed and build The Circus, a round Piazza in the same style.

We then went to Sally Lunn’s Eating House for a repast. It is the oldest house in Bath (c.1680). Had their famous Bunn. Delicious.

Then as we walking by the Bath Abby, we heard choir and went in and enjoyed the performance.

They have a very large choir and they are well rehearsed.
Took a bus home.

Writing old-fashion style.

Mr. Darcy has nothing on Mr. Thomas!

The most photographed man in England.

The only known likeness of Jane Austen
