From Bath to Liverpool on the 26th

We were debating the choice of taking a taxi to Bristol and taking the train, or taking a taxi to Bath and taking a train to Bristol and catching the train. The difference was that a taxi to Bristol would cost 60 pound and the combined taxi to Bath & train from Bath to Bristol would be only 28 pounds total.
Since it was a bank holiday also, the taxi prices were 50% higher and 60 pounds was obnoxious.

Resolved - ordered the train tickets from Bath to Bristol on-line and also ordered a taxi to take us to Bath at 7 am.
Got to the Bath station by 7:20 and got situated on the train. The folks at the station helped us so much with the scooter and the bags. We were then told that the train would leave about an hour late as there was a human body on the tracks ahead. We waited a little longer, then the conductor came to us and told us that they were cancelling the train and they would provide a bus or taxi. They decided on a taxi for us and two other people and basically put us out the door. Not what I expected.
There were no taxis at the taxi stand and definitely no vehicles that could handle four people and all our luggage.
I went in to have a discussion with them about them calling a taxi company and they told me that they had done so and the owner was in Portugal? During all these discussions, everyone was very polite and were trying to work with us. Lilia and I were not in a big rush as we had an open ticket for the trip to Liverpool from Bristol.
Since this was a bank holiday, there were very few taxis out.
I was back outside with Lilia and one other lady who we were supposed to go in the taxi with (the other person decided that they would take the bus), when a train representative came out to offer a voucher for the bus. Right at that time a taxi came by that would fit us and all the luggage. He agreed to take us.
By the way, the train company will refund our tickets and they paid for the taxi ride to Bristol, so the whole thing just cost 10 pounds.
At the Bristol station, everyone was so helpful it was amazing. We had one train change along the way and it went so smoothly.
Got to Liverpool and one of the attendants actually took us to the Tune Hotel where we were staying.

We are still in amazement. It is in the Queens district and right in front of the Liverpool Town Hall.

The staff at the Tune Hotel were very welcoming and the location is right in the center of town. Perfect for what want to do. We went to the Liverpool Cathedral and did the tourist thing. It is the largest cathedral in al of he UK and the third largest in the world.

Stopped along the way back and bought another suitcase to replace the zebra case. It’s wheels had stopped working very well.
Back at the hotel, we made arrangements for tomorrow to go on a three hour tour of all the Beatles sights and the rest of the city. we get a private taxi for this along with commentary and opportunity to get out.
