The Loch Ness Day Trip - September 2nd

Since we don’t celebrate Labor Day here in Scotland, we decided to go on a day tour to Loch Ness and show the locals how to find her. We have been told the monster is a ‘her’ because, why else would she be named Nessie?

Got an Uber to an address on the Royal Mile and since we got there so early, no one was at the tour office. We asked a street cleaner and he told us the French baker might be open. We went there and a staff person unlocked the door for us and we had a nice latte and croissant.
Went to the tour office and the attendant couldn’t find us on the list, so I showed her the ticket and she said we should be across the street at the other tour office.
Did that and went and got on the correct bus. Bus driver was a lot of fun with his kilt and belts. Started out at 8am and stopped for coffee at around 9:20. On the road again. Weather was overcast, but not raining. That would come later.
Ian, the driver, was pointing out sights and telling stories. We went into the highlands and on many winding roads. The scenery was spectacular. Stopped for lunch at Spean Bridge and had a great soup and sandwich.
On the road again.
The driver told us the story of the massacre at Glen Coe. What a horrible thing!
We continued along our way and got to the destination: Loch Ness. Also there is the Urquhart Castle
where we stopped and a boat ride in the Loch available.
Did I forget to mention that it decided to rain while we were at Loch Ness?
Got back around 8:30pm. It was a great day!
P.S. Forgot to mention, Lilia bought one of Nessie’s babies. We haven’t named him yet.
