Heading to Dover - Last Stop Before Returning Home!

On September 9th got a taxi to the Victoria Train Station to catch the 10:42 to Dover. All went well and some staff helped us with the luggage and scooter. It was an uneventful and smooth ride to Dover.

In Dover took a taxi to the Enterprise Car Rental facility and got a standard shift five door Peugeot and stuffed all our goodies in there. It was fun getting used to a standard shift again, especially driving on the left side of the road and shifting with the left hand. “Drive Left, Look Right” is out mantra! Even though there is a Navigation system in the car, I missed the road and took a different road. Well, it wasn’t really a road, but a cow path just wide enough for one car. Not sure what would have happened if we met an oncoming vehicle.
Got to our new AirBnB home somehow. Nice place. A bungalow in a bungalow and mobile home park. Been there for at least 20 years. The bungalow we are in is immaculate and the owners are nearby. We have met both the husband and wife.
Got some hints from them on places to eat and shop.
After settling in, drove to the Tesco grocery store and stocked up. That was a hilarious adventure as I not only needed to drive left, shift left, but had to deal with poor signage for the store and many other cars around. Finally made it after three or four attempts.
Got back after taking a wrong turn, but thank goodness for the navigation system.
Decided we needed to to a restaurant for supper, so we went to Smuggler’s Pub close by. Good grub and good times. Be sure to read the HISTORY section of the following webpage.

Interesting driving because people apparently are allowed to park in the driving lane of these two lane roads, so you have to make sure no one is coming the other way and drive in the wrong lane until you pass the parked cars.
All in all a great day and a nice location for our last stop in Europe.
