Last Full Day In London

As a special treat to us, we took the boat ride up & down the Thames as it was included in our hop on hop off ticket.
It was seriously cold!
We got on the boat at the Westminster Dock and decided to get off at the completion of one way to Greenwich Pier to see the “Cutty Sark” ship. That Cutty Sark is the original one with 90% of its original hull intact. It is a beautiful ship.

We will hop back on the boat after that and return to the Tower of London. More on that later.
We went on the Cutty Sark and had a great tour of the ship with some old captain’s tales. A really good exhibit.

Ever wonder why it is called the “Cutty Sark” and what a Cutty Sark is? Follow the link below.

Then we got back on the hop on hop off boat and went to the Tower Pier so we could visit the Tower of London.

It was an awesome visit and we got to see the New Crown Jewels. The Old Crown Jewels were destroyed intentionally when King Charles I was convicted of treason and beheaded on the 30th of January 1649. Oliver Cromwell wanted the monarchy done with and a parliament run government.
Didn’t work, so monarchy was restored with King Charles II in 1660 and New Crown Jewels were created.

We did see a few of the Ravens that are stationed at the Tower.

It is said that the Kingdom and the Tower of London will fall if the six resident Ravens ever leave the fortress.
